"Out with the Old & In with the New"

It is New Year's Eve 2008 and in 24 hours people around the world will be toasting in the New Year in many different ways.

As I have set here tonight I have thought about 2008 and decided I would like more out of life in 2009. I am not a spring chicken any longer with just turning 40 On Thanksgiving.

I don't want to call these New Years resolutions, because I know with that word being typed that I will break everyone of them. So with that being said I would like to say these will be my hopes and dreams for the New Year.

1. I would love to learn how to make my blog wonderful!! I see so many blogs and think to myself, man if I only new how to do that to my blog. Any suggestions would be great!!

2. I would love to learn html codes. This is something I think I really need to know when you own a website as I do.

3. I would like to find a job outside of my house. For the first time in 2 years I am ready to go back into the work force and to stop asking my husband to pay for everything. Times are hard for everyone and I would like to give him a little bit of a break.

4. One of the most important things I would like is to stop feeling sorry for myself and put on my big girl panties and deal with things better than I have in the past.

5. I need to get over the fact that I am bi-polar and that I must take medicines for the rest of my life regardless of how I feel about medications. I also need to realize that I am not the only one who is bi-polar and that it is nothing to be ashamed of.

6. I want to get my website back up and running full speed within the next week. (even though I have no clue how to put my new graphics on my site.......lol)

7. I would like to add at least 1 new item to my site every week.

8. I want to get more into sewing. My friend Shari, who has taught me so much said she thought I would really like sewing and guess what she was right. I find it to be really relaxing and then to see the finished product is so exciting to me. Also, I need to stop thinking people will think my sewn items are horrible even though I know they aren't.

9. I want to find a craft mall or antique store where I can have a booth and get my products out in the publics eyes.

10. Most important thing this year is to continue to share my time with friends both old and new.

I want to take this time to invite everyone who reads my blog to sign up to follow my blog and to keep up with my sometimes crazy life. I promise it will only get better on here. I have always liked writing and now with my blog I can do it as much as I want.

I have a live traffic feed on here and I love seeing all the places that the viewers are visiting from and have notice a lot of visitors from right here in the great state of North Carolina and that is exciting to me. I would love to get to know each and every person that visits my blog so please leave a comment if you have the time.

So, ok enough for now. I want to wish each and every one of you a very Happy New Year!!

Until Next Time......

Is it Monday Yet?

I have had my fill of the holiday's and now I am ready for Monday to come so my husband will go back to work!!!

I love my husband madly, but after 3 to 4 days together and I am ready for him to go back to UPS and leave me to myself. This has always been the way I have felt about us since the beginning of or relationship and I think that is because we use to live in different cities and also the fact that he works night shifts.

I miss him when he is at work and can't wait for him to come home in the evenings, but after 2 days on the weekends, it's time for him to go. Oh and then add the fact that he has been off for 4 days now, plus we have seen everyone we know over those few days then I am ready to be left alone, or at least until he goes to work and I can't wait for him to return home tomorrow night..........lol

Just in time for Christmas.....lol

I have been married to Scott for 6 years and we have been together for 10 years and I am finally giving him the gift her has always wanted.

And that gift would be silence. With 2 days left until Christmas I have LOST MY VOICE!!! I can't believe it no voice........lol

I tried talking to him today before he left for work and all he could say is shut-up you are only making it worse. So I decided to write notes to him instead, so the next time him told me to shut-up I crabbed this not so lovely note and showed it to him and all he did was laugh and laugh.

I can't stand not being able to talk at all. I am here to tell you I LOVE TO TALK!!!

Merry Christmas to me right.........

As I have gotten older....

As I have gotten older, I can't get over how much I have changed my ways of thinking.

I went and set up at the Flea Market this past weekend and boy that was my first mistake. I know when you make and sell primitive items, the type of person that purchases your item must like such decor. Anyways, what I'm trying to say is that the flea market is not the type of place I will ever set up again to try and sell my products.

OK, so the second thing is that I use to live in Winston-Salem before I got married and I have always loved animals and it was hard for me to get over that they did not sell dogs/cats at the pet stores. It was some type of law.

So here I am at this flea market and it was like puppy farm from hell. Every aisle you went down there were crates and crates of dogs there to be sold. I don't thing I have ever seen so many puppies at one place in my life. There were so many pit bull puppies in all colors and sizes that it was so sad.

What I couldn't understand was how were they allowed to sell those poor babies at the flea market when they can't even be sold in pets store in that town and also what happens to the ones that they don't sell?

OK, so last but not least this just simply sent me over the edge. I noticed this on Saturday and never thought anything of it until Sunday.

There were these two little girls who looked to be between 8 and 10 years old, gong up and down the aisle selling candy bars for $1.00 each and if you didn't want any candy then they would ask for a donation.

Well the person that had a booth beside me left on Saturday so there was an empty space where he was. So around noon I saw this mother bring the same girls from Saturday to that booth and said ok sell from here, and I was like what are they doing. In other words I didn't want them begging for money beside of me.

Well I did find out that the office rented them that booth for the day. Also I had heard the mother say they were selling the candy to pay for a trip. So me being who I am I ask one of the girls so where are you going on your trip and she said Florida. I was like ok they must be going to Disney World.

So this man that had a booth across from me ask the mother later on to see what the deal was, since these girls were gong into other vendors booths asking people to buy the candy and the mother told him that they are planning a trip for the summer and were selling candy to pay for that.

I'm sorry I simply didn't like that at all. I was not for the Girl Scouts, the Brownies the kids school or church, but it was for a summer vacation. So the next time I want to go to Vegas I guess I will go to Sam's Club or Costco and buy candy bars in large boxes and go wonder flea markets and make my vacation money!!!

I'm sorry if this offends anyone, but to me it was nothing more than begging. Needless to say I have learned my lesson and had my fill of the flea market.

Until Next Time......

This has not been a fun week.

This week should have been filled with fun and the excitement of wrapping presents and planning our Christmas dinner, but for me it has been a week of being in the bed everyday sicker than I can remember being in a very long time.

I usually control the people I am around, since I work from home. If I want to see someone and they are like oh I have a cold, or the baby has a fever, then I will not go around them until all is clear.

Well this past weekend I sit up a booth at Cook's Flea Market in Winston- Salem, NC which is about 30 - 40 minutes from me. So I guess with me doing that market last week it was just like putting me in a day for the very first time, with all the germs around that I'm not use to.

I have already paid my fees for the market again this weekend and I do plan on going, but I also know it is going to be so hard to get up in the morning and to work that booth for 8 hours.

Anyways, I still need to make a few large signs like, Always Kiss Me Goodnight, Home Is Where Your Harley is and several other funny ones as well as some dipped cinnamon tapers. Oh let me share this with you all as well. At several of my shows I will put a sign up stating that my candles are hand dipped 6.5" cinnamon tapers and so last week I had 8 people ask me what a taper is? I thought that was so funny!!

Well, I guess I will stop here and go start my wax to melting.

Until Next Time.......
