Been away to long!

Hey everyone!!! Just a quick update on me. I have been so busy lately and haven't had much time for anything. I haven't posted in forever and I haven't had much time to read other blogs, which I really enjoy.

I have recently finished my summer semester at GTCC with a 4.0 average......YEAHHHHHHHHH!!!

I still have a 3 1/2 weeks to go in my CNA class. This week I am on vacation from the class, since our instructor is at the beach and I am being totally lazy, but it will be back to class Saturday morning at 8 am. That is the payback we get for being off during the week and then back to regular classes Monday night at 6pm.

We start our clinical rounds soon and that should be a lot of fun.

I got something a few weeks ago that I have always wanted...... An antique rocking chair. I love it! I will take a picture tomorrow to share with you all.

Also, this maybe a lot to ask, but I have been going through some really hard times (personal issues) so if you all could remember me in your prayers that would be wonderful.

I'll be back soon!!!

A cute funny for you all.....

LADY'S YEARLY EXAM

I went to the doctor for my yearly physical.

The nurse starts with certain basics.

How much do you weigh?' she asks. "135" I say.'
The nurse put me on the scale. It turns out my weight is 180.

The nurse asks, 'Your height?' "5 foot 6 inches" I say.
The nurse checked and saw that I only measure 5' 3".

She then took my blood pressure and told me it is very high. "Of course it's high!" I screamed. "When I came in here I was tall and slender! Now I'm short and fat!"

She put me on Prozac. What a bitch.

Halloween! Help me if you can

Halloween is one of my most favorite times of the year! Everyone that knows me, knows that I am in school full-time right and I am in the process of writing an essay about Halloween.

I have to have 10 pages to turn in on the 18th and I have done tons of research and am always looking for other interesting facts and even some fiction on this subject. So far I have 6 pages ready on the history of Halloween and I am asking if you have any fun facts or myths about Halloween I would love to hear about them.

You can either leave a comment or email with them and all will help. Thanks in advance for any and all help!

I did it again!

I went to re-take my Compass test for English and Reading today at GTCC and I passed out of all of those, just as I did the math a few weeks back.

I am so excited!!! I go register for all my new classes on Monday and this is going to save me so much money in fee's and books and I love saving money.

Now I have a question that I hope someone will answer for me. This is reference to posting comments on other people's blogs.

Recently I posted a comment on a blog and when I went back the next day to see what anyone else had posted my comment was gone? I have to admit my feeling were and are hurt due to this. What or why would someone remove your comment? It was a very Plain Jane comment.

Thanks

Girls day out and about

It has been a very busy week for me. I have been sick with a really bad sinus infection that seems to never go away.

I started Monday off with going to the doc for a TB skin test and while I was there he decided it was best if I go ahead and got a tetanus (spelling ?) shot also. He said with me starting school that if I was to stick myself with a used or unused needle this would help a great deal. I know one thing my left arm has felt like someone has beat me with a bat.

I had to go back Wednesday to have my TB test read and it was find and then I was off to get my hair cut and styled. I was so excited, cause my hair dresser just had a baby and has been on bed rest for 3 three months. Oh and by the way my hair looks great.

So now for the shopping. I had seen on Shari's blog (homespunandprimitives.blogspot.com) that she was going to Fancy Gap to visit Betty from Crockett's Country Store and I wanted to go.

So we made plans to meet up and Deb (thecarolinapeddler.blogspot.com) drove us up there yesterday. Fancy Gap is about an hour from all of us. It is nestled right at the start of The Blue Ridge Parkway.

We went to Crockett's and it was a wonderful shop. Betty and her husband are some of the nicest people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. We stayed for a little over an hour or so.

Afterwards we were all starving and decided to go to a little deli across the road and it was wonderful. I had homemade chicken salad on a croissant, with kettle chips and a pickle and of course some sweet ice tea.

Once we left there it was already getting later in the day as we head to Cana, VA and stopped at The Antique Rose Shop. This is an antique consignment shop that has outgrown itself to several smaller out buildings as well. It was jammed packed from top to bottom. I simply love places like that.

I had been there about a year ago and purchased a really old quilt that I simply love and still have. This was Shari and Deb's first time there. I wasn't in the market for anything so Shari and Deb did the purchasing.

Once we left there we headed back to NC and stopped at a produce/flower stand before heading home.

Needless to say we were all pooped by this time...........lol

Now let the fun begin for today. I have already been to the dentist to get my teeth cleaned and next week I have to go back to have a few fillings re-filled due to the fact that I grind my teeth while sleeping.

Let me tell you that I have sent a lot of time and money at the dentist due to the grinding.

Now I have to run out to the college for the second time this week. Oh, I forgot on Monday I went to purchase my books for my CNA class thinking oh I only have to buy 1 book, well I was wrong I had to purchase 3 of them.

Today I have to take tax form from 2007, since I was hoping to get a pell grant and I messed up on the paper work when I first did it. I had us paying $65,000.00 in taxes that year and we just made a little over that so I had us paying it all in.........lol

Anyways, I was told that my dh made to much money and had to apply for a loan instead. Well, I got notice yesterday that they re-filed for a pell grant for me and they need the tax forms.

I need to find out for sure what is going on, since I sign up for classes in a week I need to know where the $$$$ is coming from. If I did get the pell grant then I have to take 12 hours and if I only go the loan I have to take 6 hours.

Let me tell you I am already worn out from GTCC and I still have a week to go before I start my CNA classes and on that same day I will be signing up for the Surgical classes and I'm POOPED!

Have A Great Day!!!

Too Funny!

This is for the nosy person in all of us:

Yesterday I was buying 2 large bags of Purina dog chow at Wal-Mart, for my dogs: Winston, Chief, Gus, and Maximus. I was about to check out when a woman behind me asked if I had a dog. (what did she think, that I had an elephant?)

Since I had little else to do, on impulse, I told her that no, I didn't have a dog, and that I was starting the Purina Diet again, although I probably shouldn't because I ended up in the hospital last time. On the bright side though, I'd lost 50 pounds before I awakened in an intensive care ward with tubes coming out of every hole in my body and IVs in both arms.

I told her that it was essentially a perfect diet and that the way that it works is to load your pockets with Purina nuggets and simply eat one or two every time you feel hungry, that the food is nutritionally complete; so I was going to try it again.

(I have to mention here that practically everyone in the line was enthralled with my story by now.)

Horrified, she asked if I ended up in intensive care because the dog food had poisoned me. I told her no; I had stopped in the middle of the parking lot to lick my butt and a car hit me.

I thought the guy behind her was going to have a heart attack; he was laughing so hard!

WAL-MART won't let me shop there anymore.

I'm So Excited!!

I have been studying and worrying that I was going to have to take a lot of math classes this summer, but today I went to GTCC for my Compass Testing and I actually scored out of all math classes!

I was and am so excited at the stress this relieves!! I called my husband and told him and he said there was no way and I could have knocked his head off.

Regardless, now I can focus more on the science of becoming a surgical tech. Let the fun begin!

Anyone Else Having Issues With Blogger?

Several times tonight when I was viewing blogs and I would try to go to another one or close one down it would keep popping up on my screen? I have never had this issue and am wondering if anyone has experienced this.

I know my friend Shari told me the other night when I moved everything from CCP blog to the new one I have now that my site did the same thing on her computer.

I also know that there is a scheduled outage this Thursday, so maybe it has something to do with that. Maybe, they are messing with things early?

New stuff I made

I had an order for some boxes and candles and thought that I would share them with you all.

I love making the fabric covered boxes, they are so fast and easy to do. I love how they turn out each and everytime. I usually paint the inside of my boxes, but decided to try something a little different this time. I used Walnut gel stain and I love how it turned out (pic 1).

I also made some canldes. They are from a mold and I used cinnamon wax. I have had the same pot of cinnamon wax for over 2 years now and it just keeps getting better and better. I treat it just like a bread starter, by just adding more wax, color, cinnamon and oil to it and the color is wonderful. On these candles I aslo painted the tea lights and covered them with cinnamon.

Thanks for looking..................
Hugs,
Retha

Could it be this simple?

I think this is PERFECT~ Exactly what our economy needs!

There was an article from the St. Petersburg Times Newspaper on Sunday. The Business Section asked readers for ideas on "How Would You Fix the Economy?" I thought this was the BEST idea....I think this guy nailed it!

Dear Mr. President, Patriotic retirement:

There's about 40 million people over 50 in the work force - pay them $1 million apiece severance with stipulations:

1) They leave their jobs. Forty million job openings - Unemployment fixed.

2) They buy NEW American cars. Forty million cars ordered - Auto Industry fixed.

3) They either buy a house or pay off their mortgage - Housing Crisis fixed.

Like most people have been saying, the government is bailing out the wrong people!

This was emailed to me and I thought it hit home.

I GOT ONE!

I went out tonight and got a Magic Jack and now I am on the phone with my friend in Japan.

It was so easy to install and the sound is so clear. Let's see how I like it tomorrow.

Monday's Shopping Trip

I went to Asheboro to meet Susan (Primitive Preacher's Wife) to go shopping and to bring her the items she had ordered from me. Susan had her 2 lovely daughters and her very nice husband came along as well.

We shopped at The Collectors Antique Mall and another thrift store that was just a few steps away. Susan has posted the pictures of the items they purchased on her blog. I did get a wood candle box that was marked down to $1.00, you know I couldn't leave it behind.

I have lots of nice finds from thrift stores and antique stores in my car and I swear one day I will get them out.........lol

The trip was very relaxing and we are going to go shopping again in Carmen, NC where there are 13 antiques stores side by side. So if there is anyone else that would like to go just let me know.

Until Next Time.........
Retha

Magic Jack

Does anyone have one of these. Several weeks ago I told my DH that we need to have our land line disconnected and we should use our cell phones. Well that is what we did and now I miss my house phone badly.

I don't mind using my cell but I I really miss my home phone.

If anyone is using the Magic Jack please let me know how you feel about it. I looked it up last night and it looks like a great device. I did ask Diane from A Primitive Journey what she thought about it and she says she LOVES it.

Anyways, I know you plug it into us USB on your computer and plug a phone into the device and then you have free local, long distance, voice mail, call waiting and other features for $19.95 a YEAR once you purchase the device.

Thanks in advance

Retha

Road RAGE

I think the older I get the worse my road rage is getting. I don't understand why some people have to follow so close that if I farted they would be able to smell it. This has happened twice in the past couple days.

The first was Saturday and it was pretty messy here with lots of rain and this woman gets behind me and stayed so close I couldn't even see her head lights. I was going to a thrift store out in the country and when I got ready to turn I think it shocked her. She ALL BUT HIT ME!!! Now my car is paid for, but she is more than welcome to buy me a new one.

Ok, so tonight I was on my way home from Staples traveling on I-40 and I have to exit off onto 421. Well some kid decides he wants to ride my bumper. I tell you one of these days everyone is going to here my name on the national news about a 40 year old, crazy white woman who got out of her car and just started slapping people at the stop light and the reporter is going to say quote "She was babbling about slapping some sense into these people".

SERENITY NOW I tell you SERENITY NOW!

We're Going Shopping!

I will be meeting Susan (Primitive Preacher's Wife) in Asheboro, NC Monday morning to go shopping at the Collectors Antique Mall.

Susan has purchased some of my items and instead of shipping them we have decided to meet half way for both of us. I went to this antique store last week and it is wonderful and there are also thrift stores and consignment shops within walking distance of each other.

I have been wanting to meet Susan for awhile now. She always post the best finds on her blog, so maybe we can find some wonderful stuff together.

Susan will be the first person that I have meet from blogland and I am very excited!!

Just somethings I had to do...

Somehow I had gotten myself signed up for everything that everyone else was signed up for from forums to Facebook. I am usually pretty easy to get a long with, but I will not let anyone and I do mean anyone treat me bad for any reason.

I have always said to everyone I know that if I do something you don't like or if you have anything to say about me, please come to me and tell me upfront to my face regardless of what it is, I can handle it much better than to hear it from somewhere else.

I've also, always said if I send you a private email, then respond to me and don't post it on net for all to see regardless if it ticks you off or not.

So anyways, last week something happened on one of the forums between me and the owner so I decided it was time I remove myself from that situation all together and not go to that forum any longer and today was think to myself that they were the only reason I joined Facebook.

So what did I do? Well I removed myself from there totally as well. I figure since that group was the only ones I had contact on Facebook with then it was time to go. There is no need to stay so they could see what is going on in my life, I mean after all I now have my blog for that.

With me removing myself from the above places I feel much more relaxed than I have in a long time and now it will free me up to read more blogs.

I know this post is just me rambling on and on, but I always feel better when I put it in writing.

Take Care,
Retha

I have a few questions

I'm still trying to get use to the blogging world and I have a few questions, that I hope someone can help me with.

1. What is a blogroll?

2. Is a blogroll and a bloglist the same thing?

3. Which do you prefer on a blog, music or no music?

4. What attracts you to a blog?

Thanks for any and all help.

I didn't think this day would ever get here!

I don't think I have ever looked so forward to a Monday in my life!!! I'm sure your thinking has this woman crazy or what, well the answer to that is yes, yes I am....lol

After 9 long days and nights, and I do mean long, my loving husband Scott finally goes back to work today after 9 days of vacation.

I'M SO HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love this man, but we are not use to being around each other that much. He has always worked odd hours and I like it that way. I can't wait to get back into my routine.

So today at 3:01 EST, everyone will hear me screaming from the top of my lungs, that it is a GREAT Day to be alone............YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Look what I've been up to.........lol

I am very proud to announce the opening of our (Shari, Deb and myself) booth (Hand Madens) is now open for business in the Antique Market Place located at 6428 Burnt Poplar Road in Greensboro, NC.

It has been a long time coming, but in the end it is so worth it. Our booth looks wonderful and we still have more items to put in it next week.

I have a hodgepodge of pictures to share with you today. There are a lot and I hope you enjoy each and every one of them!

What's in a name?

As many of you know I recently closed Cinnamon Creek Primitives after being in business for 3 years. Well, I have a question that I need help with. If I were to change the name of my blog would I loose my followers and is it something any of you have done before?

I never really liked the name Cinnamon Creek Primitives, but that is what the business was named when I purchased it and I didn't want to change the name for fear of loosing my customer and look where that got me out of business.

Anyways, please let me know what you think about a name change. I have a name, that I have loved forever.

Fun Time and the best TS purchase ever!

I was looking for something today and came across some of my wedding pics and thought that I would share a few of them. Scott and I were married in Vegas in 2002 at A Special Memory Wedding Chapel and it was wonderful.

We had planned on honeymooning in Vegas and said what the heck, let's just get married in there as well. So with that decision, I set out on a year of planning our wedding.

I had lived in Vegas for awhile with a roommate and he was still there and we had friends that wanted to go as well. At the time I was working for a local hotel and was able to get rooms for them for just $42 for the whole weekend. Scott and I stayed on the strip at the Excalibur and it was wonderful.

Scott had never been anywhere like Vegas before and it was so funny when we were landing he had been talking the whole flight that he was going to get the rental car and drive here, there and everywhere. Well once he saw the roads from the air he said I was doing all the driving since I knew my way around and that exactly what I did.

Ok, so Scott and I arrived on Friday to get all the details taken care of and our guest came in on Saturday for the wedding was Sunday. Scott was disappointed that his parents didn't come even after we told them we would pay for everything, but that's a story for a different time.

I remember the night before wanting to have a girls night out and I got so mad at Scott due to the fact that he had all of us going to a show that night that didn't end until after midnight and I did want to see him the day of our wedding until it was time for the limo.

So a friend stayed with me in the hotel that night and we had been out to all types of casino's, drinking at all of them and I didn't get up until 1:30 the day of my wedding. It's so funny to look back at it all now. I don't remember much about that day other than eating pancakes and the lady coming to do my hair and makeup.

Well before I knew it my best guy friend in the world was calling saying the limo was ready to take us to the Chapel. I walked out of my room and there Scott was and he looked so happy with the biggest smile I had ever seen on him. He thought I was so mad from the night before that I wouldn't show up.

So off to the Chapel we go and we got married is what the video says...........lol

I DON'T REMEMBER ANY OF IT!!!!LOL..........

The only thing I remember is laughing at what the preacher was saying and looking Scott up and down like he was going to run away or something. It was so funny to me.

We had a great reception at the MGM Grand with our large party of 8 people and gambled the rest of the night away.

Our friends left us on Monday and we honeymooned for 10 more days and it is a time I will never forget.

So now for the best thrift store purchase ever, well it was my wonderful handmade wedding dress. I got it for $50 at the Salvation Army store, had buttons put down the back for $40 and dry cleaned for $60 for a grand total of $150.

Sorry this post is so long and here are some pics of us.the best cake I have ever had

I think my head is going to EXPLODE!!!

Do you ever have those days to where your mind just works overtime? Well, lately mind has not stopped......(breathe in, breathe out.........not really working either)

So anywho, I have been searching none stop for a college to attend and I was hoping to start this year and things are not working out the way I want them!! (darn it)

I can go to be an RN, or surgical tech, but can't start the programs until 2010 and that sucks big time, or I can go to ECPI for medical assisting and start this March.........oh, but of course there is a catch there..... their program cost $24,000.00 for a 16 month program/

I have learned so much in the past 2 weeks that I'm worried now that I will make the wrong choice and be unhappy with it. Every college I have gone to has been pushing medical assisting and that is not what I want to do. I want to have a degree not just a diploma.

My biggest fear is that I will be a failure at this just like I have at everything else in my life....(I know pity party)

Anyways, if anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.

Hugs,

Retha

Doctor update

I think I am going to like my new doctor. If nothing else he was very easy on the eyes. I'm not sick my no means , but I do have a rash on my back that he thinks is from a new shampoo.

I also have a bacterial infection that I was given medicine for. I have been having issues with my bladder for almost a year now and that is the cause of the infection. In the coming months my doc is going to put a mesh sling to hold my bladder an that should stop all the issues.

Mini update: My Christmas tree is still up.........lol

Nerves

I am a little nervous this morning. I have an appointment with a new general practice doctor. My doc of 8 years left his practice in December and I was an still am very saddened by that.

I have to go to the doc every six months for a liver panel and to have bloodwork done. I really hope I like this doctor, cause it took me weeks to decide on someone new. I will post more when I get home latter today about my visit.

Anywho, I was thinking that on my way home there is 5 TS I can stop to ease my nerves and that sounds like a good plan for the day.

I also need to go to Forsyth Tech to see what types of programs they offer. I want so bad to be a surgical tech, but after my visit to the college yesterday I'm not to sure that is what I will do.

The school only takes 36 new students every fall and it is already full for 2009 so I would even be able to begin until 2010 and the program is 2 years long. So anyways, I figure I can choose something else and learn surgical tech through a hospital program or something.

I will post later tonight on the doctors visits and if I find anything at the TS.

Until Then...........

When One Door Closes

I have decided after a lot of thought and thousands of tears to close my website Cinnamon Creek Primitives.

I made this decision so that I can focus on going back to school and hopefully going nback to work.

I will continue to craft and sell my products.

I have always heard the old saying that when one door closes another one opens, and I do believe this to be very true.

How has your Sunday been?

I love Sunday's!!! It's the one day out of the week that I spend my whole day with my husband. He works from 3 pm to midnight or after Monday - Friday at UPS. So on Saturday that is the day he gets to rest and do whatever it is he wants or need to do.

So on Sunday's he is all mine......... We usually get up pretty late in the day and one of us will fix breakfast. This morning he made us waffles. The puppy and I just love them. I got Scott a waffle iron for Christmas and it has been one of the best purchases ever made in this house. I wanted to make waffles several weeks ago for dinner and Scott pouted that I was going to use HIS waffle iron. I thought that was so funny.

Anywho, it is so nice here today. I decided I would run to the Goodwill while Scott took a shower. Well it was not worth the trip at all. We have two Goodwill's here in Greensboro and both of them suck big time.

Ok, so Scott is going to make dinner tonight. That is another one of the things we usually do on Sunday's is to eat at home. We like to go out to dinner on Saturday and cook on Sunday so we can watch Desperate Housewives together.

Scott is no chef, but he sure has a lot of fun playing one. I am not sure what is is going to fix other than chicken and I'm sure it will have cheese in it or on it, since that is his favorite food.

So what is your favorite thing to do on Sunday's?

Been very busy lately.

Last week was very busy for me. I took a week long class at Joblinks here in Greensboro, trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up. I think it's time for me to go back to school. Boy oh boy doesn't that sound like a lot of fun.

I am 40 years old and the first time I went to college I was 26. I love having my website and doing craft shows throughout the year, but I need something more. I need a reason to get out of the house everyday and going back to school will give me that reason.

So if you were a 40 year old women ready to go back to school what would you want to be? I am really leaning towards being a surgical tech. I took a placement class last week and I scored really high in the health field and I figure I'm to old to become a heart or brain doc now..........lol

Anyways, I go to a class tomorrow and then next week also and then I hope I have decided by then. I would love to hear any suggestions.

Also, if you have the time, please sign up to follow my blog, you never know it might be really fun.

Until Next Time..........

Oh My Goodness

Oh my goodness it's been over a week since my last post and I'm not sure where all that time has gone.

I have been really busy planning a trip in May. I have decided to go to the Prim Mart Covention in PA. There will be 35 girls and 1 guy attending this year and the excitement builds more and more everyday.

I love reading other blogs and have seen something on a ton of them that says "Favorite Finds". Well I just love all of them and have to decided that is what I will post today is one of my favorite finds.

I do a lot of craft shows every year and love bartering with other vendors. What this means is if they have something you want then usually they will trade you for something of yours. I have done this at most shows we go to.

I know at one of my show in Hillsville, VA there is a vendor that makes homemade desserts and she loves my soaps so every year we trade off these items. I get my chocolate fix while we are there and she gets fresh handmade soaps.

Anywho, this "Favorite Find" came from a show I had in October in Mt. Airy, NC also know as the town of Mayberry.

New item that will be added to my site soon

I just love this bobbin lamp!! It will come with the shade made out of kraft linen with navy blue borders. This lamp measures 23.5" with the shade on and holds a 40 watt bulb. There will only be 4 of these lamps and I will have them on my site in time for my Grand Re-opening next week.

Until Next Time....

I am not a morning person!

I have never been a morning person and as I have gotten older it has gotten worse. It is 8:37 am here in Greensboro and the temp is around 35 or so and the only reason I am up is I have to be at the doctors office to start physical and shock therapy on my bladder today.

Now shouldn't that just make me want to jump up and get in the shower and head out the down into this freezing weather. Well believe me the it doesn't...........lol

Mini update: The Christmas Tree is still up.

READ THIS VERY SLOWLY.... IT'S PRETTY PROFOUND.

Too many people put off something that brings them joy just because they haven't thought about it, don't have it on their schedule, didn't know it was coming or are too rigid to depart from their routine.

I got to thinking one day about all those women on the Titanic who passed up dessert at dinner that fateful night in an effort to cut back. From then on, I've tried to be a little more flexible.

How many women out there will eat at home because their husband didn't suggest going out to dinner until after something had been thawed? Does the word 'refrigeration' mean nothing to you?

How often have your kids dropped in to talk and sat in silence while you watched 'Jeopardy' on television?

I cannot count the times I called my sister and said, 'How about going to lunch in a half hour?' She would gas up and stammer, 'I can't. I have clothes on the line. My hair is dirty. I wish I had known yesterday, I had a late breakfast, It looks like rain.' And my personal favorite: 'It's Monday.' She died a few years ago. We never did have lunch together.

Because Americans cram so much into their lives, we tend to schedule our headaches. We live on a sparse diet of promises we make to ourselves when all the conditions are perfect!

We'll go back and visit the grandparents when we get Steve toilet-trained. We'll entertain when we replace the living-room carpet.. We'll go on a second honeymoon when we get two more kids out of college..

Life has a way of accelerating as we get older. The days get shorter, and the list of promises to ourselves gets longer. One morning, we awaken, and all we have to show for our lives is a litany of 'I'm going to,' 'I plan on,' and 'Someday, when things are settled down a bit.'

When anyone calls my 'seize the moment' friend, she is open to adventure and available for trips. She keeps an open mind on new ideas. Her enthusiasm for life is contagious. You talk with her for five minutes, and you're ready to trade your bad feet for a pair of Roller blades and skip an elevator for a bungee cord.

My lips have not touched ice cream in 10 years. I love ice cream. It's just that I might as well apply it directly to my stomach with a spatula and eliminate the digestive process The other day, I stopped the car and bought a triple-Decker. If my car had hit an iceberg on the way home, I would have died happy.

Now...go on and have a nice day. Do something you WANT to......not something on your SHOULD DO list. If you were going to die soon and had only one phone call you could make, who would you call and what would you say? And why are you waiting?

Make sure you read this to the end; you will understand why I sent this to you.

Have you ever watched kids playing on a merry go round or listened to the rain lapping on the ground? Ever followed a butter fly's erratic flight or gazed at the sun into the fading night? Do you run through each day on the fly? When you ask ' How are you?' Do you hear the reply?

When the day is done, do you lie in your bed with the next hundred chores running through your head? Ever told your child, 'We'll do it tomorrow.' And in your haste, not see his sorrow? Ever lost touch? Let a good friendship die? Just call to say 'Hi?

When you worry and hurry through your day, it is like an unopened gift....Thrown away.... Life is not a race Take it slower. Hear the music before the song is over.

It's National Friendship Week. Show your friends how much you care. Send this to everyone you consider a FRIEND.

To those I have sent this to... I cherish our friendship and love and appreciate all you do.

"Life may not be the party we hoped for.... but while we are here we might as well dance!"

Hasn't been much going on this week

Well it's Friday once again and I haven't really done much of anything this week.

I sent my resume out to tons of places this week, with no replies yet. I gave my doggie a hair cut today. Oh and let me just ad this much, if you have never cut your dogs hair, you may not want to attempt it. Misty's hair look alright, but I have to wait and see what Scott thinks when he gets home tonight.

I can already here him now saying to Misty, "oh you poor puppy, what has your mommie done now"..........lol

Anyways, we don't have much planned for the weekend other than going to the movies and hopefully out to have Mexican Food as well.

Until Next Time.......

I have changed my graphics on my website to match my blog here. I have everything up, but the new logo and will figure that out tomorrow.

Also, I will be posting the picture of my Christmas tree that is still up and the prize that can be won for that contest once Scott goes to work tomorrow. I can't let him know I am doing this on my blog until he finally takes the tree down, then I will show it to him and we will have a good old laugh together.

BORED and a Contest

I have been so bored for the past week. We didn't go anywhere for New Year's Eve. We sat here on the sofa watching Top 100 Hard Rock Songs on VH1.

The only thing I have managed to do this week is to take my ornies off my tree. So now it's time to wait and see how long it takes my husband to take the tree down. That is always a joke between me and my friends and here is why.

The first year we moved here we had a small 6ft tree and it was way to small for our new house, so Scott went and got a huge 8ft tree. I was so excited and purchased a ton of new ornaments. Well Christmas came and went that was 2006. I took all the ornaments off and put them away except for the angel on top that I couldn't reach.

Well, January went by and the tree was still up. Then Feb., March, April, May and then June came and the freaking tree was still in the living room. I do have to admit that I was so ticked that I put eggs and ribbon on it for Easter and Scott didn't even notice them at all.

Needless to say that by June I was ready to rip every branch off the tree just to get it out of my way. Well our air unit messed up and Scott finally removed the tree. He said he didn't want the worker to think he was crazy with a Christmas tree with nothing on it still up.

So now on to Christmas 2007. This was the worst, he left the darn thing up for the entire year. I was so pissed I swore I was not going to put anything on the tree, but of course I did.

So now that brings us to Christmas 2008 and today is 1-3-09 and I can't wait to see how long it takes for him to remove the tree. I think I am actually going to have a contest to see what others guess and will offer a prize. I just came up with this while typing this so I will post a picture for the prize that can be won and a picture of our naked tree. All you have to do is post a comment with your guess date and I will keep everyone updated.
